Liz Scott Named To The Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND, OH - Sophomore Liz Scott was named to the Academic All-MAC Team, the conference office announced on Thursday afternoon.  Scott had already been named to the All-MAC Second Team following the end of the season.

Scott, a social sciences major with a 3.357 GPA, led the team in kills this past year with 318, while also leading the squad with a .264 hitting percentage.  Scott had three matches this past year with 20 or more kills, including a career-high 25 kills in a five-set win over Oral Roberts.  Following that weekend, Scott was named the MAC East Offensive Player of the Week.

Overall, Scott had 18 matches with double figures in kills, including eight straight matches to end the season.  She had four double-doubles, with 10 digs in four different matches.

Scott becomes the first UB player named to the Academic All-MAC team since th 2010 season.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
