Diggin' It With UB Volleyball - Week 2

Each week this season we will check in with the UB Volleyball team and preview their week ahead.

BLOG  #2, SEPTEMBER 10^th 2010

This past weekend we hosted the first of our two non-conference tournaments and left the weekend with enormous success!  Our first set against Navy was not our best start but after that we never looked back, winning the next 9 sets of the weekend to go 3-0 in match play. As a team it felt good to get the wins and we all felt that we got better as the weekend went on. Kelly and Reese were recognized for their good play by being named to the all-tournament team and Kayla walked away as the tournament MVP. We really are starting to define what "Buffalo Volleyball" is all about!

HOME SEASON CONTINUES THIS WEEKEND

Catch the women's volleyball team this Friday at 7pm vs. Binghamton in their opening match of the 2010 Blue & White Classic. Then, the Bulls are in action twice on Saturday, taking on Hampton at 11am and St. John's at 7pm on Family Night. STAT OF THE WEEK

Freshmen setter Dani Reinert had four services aces for UB against Syracuse.  She became the third different player this season to record at least four aces in a match.  Also recording at least four is senior setter Lindsey Schlegel, who had five aces against Central Connecticut State and freshman outside hitter Dana Musil, who had six aces against Howard.  Musil has recorded at least four aces in three different matches this year.
