Women's Tennis Concludes Play At ITA Fall Regionals

WEST POINT, NY - The University at Buffalo women's tennis team concluded action at the ITA Fall Regionals on Sunday morning as junior Tanvi Shah went 1-1 in singles play over the weekend.

In the Round of 64 on Saturday, Shah defeated Heini Salonen from Boston College, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 to advance to the Round of 32, which took place this morning.

Shah faced Amanda Mulliawan from Princeton, who was ranked 11th in the field, and fell, 6-2, 6-2 ending her tournament run.

"I thought we had a good weekend all around, but there is a lot of talent in the Northeast and we faced some of the best," said head coach Kristen Ortman.  "We had solid play, especially from Tanvi and Miranda Podlas in doubles.  We will continue to work to improve and get ready for the Spring."

The Bulls are now off until late January when they begin the Spring portion of their schedule.
