Bulls Claim “A” Doubles Crown At Cornell Fall Invitational

ITHACA, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team concluded action at the Cornell Fall Invitational on Sunday afternoon, winning the "A" Doubles title in the process.

The duo of juniors Miranda Podlas and Tanvi Shah took on the first-seeded Frazier and O'Neil of Cornell, winning 8-6.  In consolation action, junior Anamaria Candanoza and sophomore Shir Aharon won their contest, 8-3.

In singles action on Sunday Podlas and Marta Stoyanova each had 6-0, 6-0 victories, while newcomer Laura Fernandez picked up a 6-1, 6-4 win.

The Bulls will be off next week and will then host Niagara for a Saturday evening contest on Sep. 29.
