Tanvi Shah Named First-Team All-MAC

BUFFALO, NY – Buffalo sophomore Tanvi Shah has been named to the All-Mid-American Conference First Team, the conference office announced this afternoon from the league championships in DeKalb, IL.  Shah, who is in her first season of competition for the Bulls, joins a list of first-team All-MAC selections for head coach Kathy Twist that go back to 2004.  Buffalo currently has the longest active streak of first-team selections in the conference.

Shah leads the Bulls with a 15-9 record this season, playing exclusively at first singles.  She went 11-5 in dual matches, including 6-2 in MAC play. All six of Shah's conference wins have come in straight sets and both of her MAC losses came to players also on the All-MAC First Team. 

Shah joins Stephanie Danesis from Miami, Zara Harutyunyan and Olga Shkundina from Akron, Nikki Chiricosta from Bowling Green and Courney Wild from Ball State.

Buffalo begins MAC Tournament play tomorrow afternoon when they face Western Michigan at 2pm central time.
