UB Student-Athletes Earn a Combined 3.014 Grade Point Average For Spring Semester
With the 2012-13 academic year coming to a close, the University at Buffalo student-athletes carried on a budding, but important, tradition after cumulating a 3.014 grade point average in the Spring semester. This marked the first time the Athletic Department has surpassed a 3.0 GPA in three straight semesters.

Division Of Athletics Posts Program-Best 3.039 GPA
The University at Buffalo Division of Athletics finished an exceptional semester in the classroom in the Fall of 2012, post a school-best 3.039 GPA. This marked the first time that the Athletic Department has surpassed a 3.0 GPA in back-to-back semesters.

Shannon Algoe Named to Academic All-MAC Team
Senior defender Shannon Algoe was named to the Mid-American Conference's All-Academic team on Monday, becoming a three-time honoree for the Bulls. She becomes the first three-time honoree for the team since Andrea Vescio, who won three straight from 2006-08. The team also put five others on the honorable mention team.

In typical Mid-American Conference fashion, the final game of the regular season held great significance Thursday afternoon, with the Buffalo Bulls (5-12-2, 3-7-1 MAC) hosting the Akron Zips (6-11-1, 2-8-1 MAC) with a chance to clinch the final seed in the upcoming postseason tournament. After gaining a late lead, the Bulls allowed the Zips to tie and force overtime before giving up a golden goal just over 70 seconds into overtime to lose 2-1.

Velez Lifts Bulls to Dramatic Win
Stephanie Velez came to Buffalo with one of the most dynamic seasons a freshman has ever had, but after injuries wiped out her sophomore season, she returned to a key reserve role and the heart of the team. In her second to last game playing in UB Stadium on Sunday afternoon, she regained that spark and scored the game-winning goal on a free kick in the 86th minute of a 1-0 win over Western Michigan.

In a game bitterly contest with equal chances by each side, the Eagles used a goal in the 75th minute to earn the win, while dealing Buffalo's conference tournament hopes a big blow.

Women's Soccer Announces Talented Incoming Class
The University at Buffalo women’s soccer coaching staff announced five signings for their 2011 recruiting class Wednesday morning. The signees include two New York natives and three from the Cleveland area. Joining the Bulls for next season will be Megan Giesen, Katie Roberts, Courtney Mann, N’ Dea Johnson and Jackie Hall.

With over 130 appearances and 117 starts between them, Lindsey and Kristin Bailey came into the season ready to lead a young and inexperienced squad and were the cornerstones on both the offensive and defensive ends of the field. In one of the most dramatic of finishes possible in soccer, Ohio scored as the game clock went to 0:00 in double overtime to steal the win on Senior Day Friday night at UB Stadium. The Bulls defense played a fantastic match, holding off a Bobcat attack that produced 13 corner kicks and 12 shots on goal, but a lone mistake proved to be the difference.
