OXFORD, OH - The Bulls offense made its first shot count against Miami (OH) Sunday afternoon and scored a season-high three goals, but the team fell just short, falling 4-3. The team took only five shots, but made them count, getting scores from three separate players.
Freshman Megan Abman got the team off to a hot start, scoring in the fifth minute from just outside the box for her third goal of the season. Senior Lindsey Bailey assisted on the goal, her second assist of the season.
Miami answered back with two goals before the Bulls struck again. Sophomore Taylor Thompson put home a header off of a rebound to even the score in the 34th minute. A late first-half goal from the Redhawks put Buffalo down 3-2 going into the half.
Freshman goalie Ainsley Wheldon had a busy day against the Miami offensive attack, making nine saves. The three goals from the team matched the previous high it set in a win against St. Bonaventure.
Now 0-2 in the conference, the Bulls will have two more games on the road next weekend before making its late-season homestand in Mid-October. The team will head back to the midwest starting on Friday against Northern Illinois at 5:00 pm followed by a Sunday contest against Western Michigan at noon.
