BOSTON, MA -- On an unseasonably warm day, nine rowing alumnae took to the water in the Head of the Charles Regatta. The boat was selected to participate in the regatta through a lottery in which the alumnae had entered. This race marked the first time that these alumnae had competed with this exact lineup and they could not have been happier with the outcome.
The boat was directed by coxswain Dawn Kavanaugh Vona (2004) followed by Kasey Hansen (2005), Sara Sheffer Corona (2004), Michelle Schwach Miecznikowski (2005), Kali Spoto (2005), Tara Celestini (2005), Caitlin Logue Rush (2005), Amy Aldridge (2004) and bow Ginelle Michael Brown (2005).
The boat had a great race competing against 34 other boats in its specific heat including familiar foes from college. The alumnae 8 was able to pass two boats in the water to finish in the top 30.
Caitlin Rush expressed how great of an experience it was, "This was the first time we had ever rowed this lineup many of us never rowing in the same boat together in college. It was an amazing experience to get back on the water and I enjoyed every stroke!"
