Women's Rowing Continues Fall Season at the Head of the Genesee
Rochester, NY – The University at Buffalo rowing team traveled up interstate 90 to take part in the Head of the Genesee. The day's competition included in-state foes Syracuse and RIT.
In the morning session, UB's varsity 4s took fifth and sixth place behind three Syracuse boats and one RIT boat. The varsity 4 "A" boat consisted of coxswain Katie Boniello, Alexa Shoiock, Jordyn Phillips, Bethany Cross and Kylie Lewis. While the varsity 4 "B" held coxswain Christine Proulx, Elizabeth Murphy, Alyssa Gabel, Jessica Levy and Sara-Ann Fox.
The Bulls had three Varsity 8 boats in the race finishing fourth, eighth and ninth respectively. Coxswain Emily Glasgow, Heide MacMahon, Brittany Davidson, Veronika Kwinecki, Mackenzie Turpin, Deborah Garth, Shannon David, Sydney Gilchrist and Justine Bottorff made up the Varsity 8 "A"boat. The Varsity 8 "B" boat consisted of coxswain Kara Buchheit, Danielle Carlino, Hannah Miller-Selzer, Nicole Ciesielski, Sarah Gallagher, Hayley Franco, Samantha Paige, Kaitlyn Koscielniak and Stephanie Iannacchino. While the Varsity 8 "C" rowers consisted of coxswain Alyssa Porter, Margaret Lawn, Francisca Strange-Sepulveda, Raleigh Galbraith, Hanna Victor, Clare Costello, Megan Klyczek, Katie Coffin and Cassandra Nicolia.
In the novice competition, UB's novice 8 "A" finished third.This boat included coxswain Marlee Rothschild, Erica Tenteromano, Allyssa Cotten, Meghan O'Brien, Rachel Attea, Arielle Fleming, Colleen Patterson, Elaine Slaven, Taylor Hagenbuch. The novice 8 "B" boat included coxswain Courtney Donovan, Kim Lourette, Kristen Molina, Quaneisha Ivey, Sara Oliphant, Rachel Casaceli, Anna Hargrave, Caroline Lodinsky and Maya Barnard.
The Bulls return to the water Saturday November 3 at the Syracuse Invitational.
