Buffalo Hosts Harvey Cup This Weekend

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo rowing team will host the Harvey Cup this weekend on Tonawanda Creek.

The two-day event kicks off on Friday afternoon at 3:00 pm. This year, UB has invited three other teams to compete - Eastern Michigan, Colgate and Dayton. The Bulls will face off against Eastern Michigan on Friday and Colgate and Dayton will race each other. The winners of Friday's races will square off on Saturday with the second-place finishers also competing.

Buffalo and Eastern Michigan's Varsity 8 boats will start their race at 4:30 pm on Friday with the winner of that race earning the Harvey Cup.

Saturday's races begin at 9:00 am.

The Harvey Cup is named in recognition and memory of former Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator Nan Harvey, who passed away in September of 2003 after battling cancer for over three years.
