BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo rowing program continued to climb the national rankings this week as both the varsity and lightweight programs are listed in the national polls.
UB's varsity program picked up another seven votes this week and is now 27th in the nation according to the USRowing/CRCA Collegiate Rowing national poll. The poll takes into account the performances of the Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Four boats and UB used its success from last weekend to climb the charts. UB defeated Gonzaga, who is listed just above Buffalo, in both the Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Four race. The Bulls also beat Syracuse in both of those races, a team that is also receiving votes.
The entire UB rowing team heads to Camden, NJ this weekend for the 2010 Knecht Cup. The event will begin on Saturday, April 10.
