Bulls To Play 4 Kay This Saturday
BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's basketball team will be taking part in its annual breast cancer awareness event on Saturday afternoon during its game against Toledo. This year, the event has been named "Play 4 Kay" in memory of former NC State head coach Kay Yow, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2009. All proceeds from the event will benefit the WBCA/Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
The first 200 people to attend the event will be given pink UB Bulls water bottles and the first 50 people will also get free cotton candy. While at the game, fans will have an opportunity to buy a pink t-shirt for a $5 donation that they can then design on their own at an assigned station. D'art Moda will also be in the house, putting some pink flair into fans' hair.
The WeCanRow program will also be in attendance with their erg machines. WeCanRow is a wellness and rehabilitation program designed for breast cancer and all female cancer survivors.
Finally, there will be an opportunity to win numerous prizes, including game worn pink uniforms for the four UB seniors.
Tickets can be purchased at Buffalobulls.com or by phone at 1-877-UB-THERE. For those unable to attend the event, donations can be made at play4kay.org/ubwbb.
