BUFFALO, NY – Head coach Linda Hill-MacDonald has announced that Jessica Bogia will join the women's basketball staff as an assistant coach. Bogia comes to Buffalo with an impressive resume, including two seasons as a head coach.
"I am very pleased about the addition of Jessica Bogia to our staff," said Hill-MacDonald. "As a former head coach, Jess understands the demands of coaching and the importance of recruiting. We will take advantage of the many contacts that Jess has with AAU and high school coaches in the eastern region in our quest to bring the best players available to UB.
"I love the energy and enthusiasm that Jess has and her passion for coaching was evident during the interview process. I look forward to working with her and welcoming her to the UB family," Hill-MacDonald added.
Bogia spent two seasons as the head coach at Keystone College where several players picked up CSAC post season honors. She had 17 wins in the those two seasons, including a 10-14 record in 2008-09 which was her first year.
Prior to joining Keystone, Bogia served as an assistant coach for the women's basketball team at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. While there she was responsible for the development and implementation of the program's game and practice plans, as well as scouting and recruiting.
Before that, Bogia served two seasons as the assistant coach at Goldey-Beacom College. While at Goldey-Beacom she played an integral part in the third largest turnaround of the 2006-07 season as the squad went from a three win season to an 18 win campaign. Bogia was credited with recruiting the programs top incoming player, as well as assisting the head coach with scouting, development, and conditioning.
She also spent time as the assistant coach of Philadelphia Belles U16 AAU squad and as camp director for the Blue Star National Invitational Camp.
Bogia received a bachelor's degree from Lafayette College and a master's degree in business administration from Goldey-Beacom College.
