BUFFALO, NY - Senior Kourtney Brown was named the MAC East Player of the Week for the second time in the last four days as the league office named its final Players of the Week Thursday evening following the conclusion of the regular season. The honor is the fifth of the year for Brown, the most in the league.
Brown finished the regular season with a 32-point, 9-rebound performance against Bowling Green. The 32 points were a game-high and moved her past Rasaun Young, the UB men's all-time leading scorer, for the most career points in Buffalo's basketball history. Brown also had two blocks against the Falcons, giving her 251 for her career, which is now the most in Mid-American Conference history. The old record had stood for 22 years. Brown continues to lead the MAC in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage and blocked shots.
Brown and the Bulls begin MAC Tournament play on Saturday evening as they host Ball State in the first round at 7:00 pm. The Bulls enter play as the number six seed.
