2011-12: Named men’s Most Improved and earned first-team All-MAC honors. Part of all three of UB’s victorious freestyle relays (200 free relay, 1:19.67; 400 free relay, 2:56.31; 800 free relay, 6:30.94) at the MAC Championships. Placed second in the 50 freestyle (20.11) and 100 freestyle (43.84) at the league meet. Also named honorable mention for the Collegeswimming.com Mid-Major All-America team.
2010-11: Part of record setting 400 free relay team (2:56.60) at the MAC Championships. Finished fifth in the 100 butterfly (48.98), 10th in the 100 freestyle (45.27) and 12th in the 50 freestyle (20.90) at the MAC meet.
High School: Lettered and captained at Mohonasen High School for coach Bill Mottola. The 2010 New York State champion in the 100 butterfly. Earned All-America honors in 100 butterfly as a junior and 100 butterfly and 50 freestyle as a senior. Set 10 school records and a sectional record in the 100 butterfly. Also swam for Albany Starfish club program qualifying for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 100 butterfly.
Personal: Born January 27, 1992. Son of Bob and Eva Dugan. Has one brother (Chris). Enjoys classic rock and lists Van Halen, the Steve Miller Band, ELO and The Who among his favorite bands. Favorite TV shows include Mythbusters, Scrubs and South Park. Lists physicists as the profession he most admires. Majoring in physics.
