High School: Earned four letters for coach John Burkle at Iowa City High School. The 2011 Iowa state champion in the 200 freestyle (1:42.47) and the state runner-up in the 500 freestyle (4:38.02), finishing behind his Little Hawks’ teammate. Set two school records and the Mississippi Valley Conference record in the 500 freestyle. Swam for eight years with the Iowa City Eels club program for coach Don Spellman.

Personal: Born January 10, 1993. Son of Bryant and Terry McAllister. Favorite athletes include basketball players Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash and swimmers Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte and Aaron Piersol. Chose UB over Binghamton, SMU and Denver. Majoring in chemical engineering.
