Holly Johnson Named To Academic All-MAC Team

BUFFALO, NY - Outgoing senior pitcher Holly Johnson was named to the Mid-American Conference All-Academic Team the conference office announced on Monday morning.  Johnson was one of 19 players from the league on this year's team.

Johnson finished her collegiate career with a 3.55 GPA as Mathematics major.  She recorded three wins this past year, including a two-hit shutout of Baylor, than the 15th ranked team in the country. She also struck out 97 batters and picked up her first career save.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
