Bulls Roll on Second Day of UB Invitational

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team won five of eight singles matches and two of three doubles contests to complete the second day of the UB Invitational at the University Tennis Center. The Bulls played Niagara and Kennesaw State faced St. Bonaventure in singles and doubles competitions on Saturday. 

In singles play, the Bulls won all five of their matches in straight sets with Alex Kalinin, in the F draw, and Travis Zappia, in the G draw, rolling to 6-1, 6-1 victories over their opponents. Wojceich Starakiewicz (A), Damien David (B) and Vusa Hove (C) were also victorious in singles play.

The Bulls posted doubles wins in the A and C draw with Hove and David combining for an 8-2 win over Brandon Gallego and David Raymond in the A match and Ivan Vereshchaga and Kalinin taking the C match from Joe Zelic and Matt Bojanowski, 8-3.

Play concludes on Sunday at 10 am.
