Bulls Host Kent State on Wednesday Looking to Level MAC Record

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team will host Kent State looking to win its second straight conference game and even it record at 2-2.

The Bulls (9-6, 1-2 MAC) are looking to build on their come-from-behind victory over Akron on Sunday afternoon. UB trailed by 10 points midway through the second half before surging ahead for the victory. Freshman Jarod Oldham came up with the play of the game when he stole a pass and was fouled. The freshman guard calmly sank two free throws to seal the win.

It was another MAC nail biter for the Bulls who have had all three of their conference games decided by three points.

Buffalo welcomes a Kent State squad to town that is 11-6 overall and 2-1 in MAC play. After losing their opener to rival Akron, the Golden Flashes have defeated Bowling Green and Ohio. Kent State is led by Justin Greene who is averaging 16.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.

It will be another "Wing Wednesday" at Alumni Arena as the first 200 fans at the game will be treated to free wings courtesy of Santora's Pizza Pub & Grill. In addition, five fans will face off in a wing-eating contest at halftime. The winning fans from the first five "Wing Wednesdays" will return on the final Wednesday of the season (UB Men's Basketball Senior Night vs. Miami (OH) on March 2) to compete for the title of UB's Wing King/Queen.

Wednesday's game will be televised on SportsTime Ohio with Michael Reghi and Steve Mix calling the action. As always, Josh Whetzel and Pete Lonergan will call the game on WECK 1230-AM.
