BUFFALO, NY – Not only did the University at Buffalo football team improve on the field in 2011, but the Bulls improved in the classroom as well. The UB football team posted a team grade point average of 2.6 – its highest in Division I history.
"I'm proud of how hard our team has worked in the classroom," head coach Jeff Quinn said. "It shows the commitment these young men have to improving both athletically and academically."
The Bulls had 28 players with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
In January, junior wide receiver Alex Neutz and junior defensive end Colby Way were named to the Academic All-MAC Team. Way was also named to the 2011 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team.
