Bulls to Face Penn State in 2015

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo football program will be making their second appearance in legendary Beaver Stadium when they travel to Penn State during the 2015 season.

The Bulls, who lost a hard-fought 45-24 decision at Penn State in 2007, will return to Happy Valley on September 12, 2015 to face the Nittany Lions. Game time has not been determined.

"We are extremely excited for our fans, alumni base and our football program to have another opportunity to play on the kind of stage that Beaver Stadium and Penn State present," said Warde Manuel, Vice President and Director of Athletics. "Playing before more than 100,000 fans is an experience that any student-athlete looks forward to and we expect to go and compete with great effort as we did in our first visit to Beaver Stadium."

Playing Penn State in 2015 will mark the sixth meeting that the Bulls have had against current Big Ten members, including Michigan (1901), Minnesota (2002), Iowa (2003), Wisconsin (2006) and Penn State. The Bulls defeated Penn State, 10-0, in the first meeting between the schools way back in 1900.

"We are extremely excited to showcase our football program in such a tremendous atmosphere against one of the country's most successful football programs," said UB head football coach Jeff Quinn. "It's also a game played in an area that we target for recruiting and a unique opportunity to play in that venue for the young men on our team from Pennsylvania."
