Bulls Continue to Show Progress During Spring Drills
BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo football team continued spring drills Thursday at UB Stadium. The sunshine noticeably had an overwhelming effect on the players as they went through warm ups and began drills with plenty of motivation and spirit. The practice began with a heavy focus on running the ball, with plenty to show for it as running backs Ike Nduka, Brandon Thermilus and Josh Fuller made some cuts and found space to run.
Here are highlights from Thursday's practice:
Wide receiver Alex Neutz showed nice concentration bringing in a
one-handed catch over the defender.
Cornerback Josh Copeland knocked down a pass in the end zone.
Quarterback Alex Dennison threw a dart to Terrell Jackson right in
front of the defender for a touchdown.
Linebacker Raphael Akobundu broke up a pass in the end zone.
Carlos Lammons jumped the route and intercepted a pass intended for
wide receiver Fred Lee.
Wide receiver Terrell Jackson laid out for a pass over the
middle.
Cornerback Sherrod Lott intercepted a pass in the end zone.
Wide receiver Fred Lee made a nice grab on the sideline.
Josh Fuller took the handoff and burst up the middle for a
nice gain.
Play of the Day:
Wide Receiver Terrell Jackson was able to beat the defender and had a nice over the shoulder catch for a touchdown.
Hit of the Day:
Linebacker Shaquille Dudley knocked tight end Dante Burton off his feet over the middle of the field.
Thoughts from Coach Quinn:
"We got guys right now that are doing very well. The defense has really stepped up their game. Offensively we're not quite there. The offense is demanding a lot more individual matchups up front and we're still learning, but we just need to keep forging ahead."
