BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo head football coach Jeff Quinn has announced the signings of two Michigan natives to his 2010 recruiting class.
Dalton Barksdale, a 6-3, 240-pound defensive end from Detroit (Cass Tech HS) and Jake Silas, a 6-8, 270-pound offensive tackle from Portland, MI (Portland HS) will join the Bulls in August.
Barksdale was an All-Metro and All-City selection at Cass Tech, and is also a member of the National Honor Society. Scout.com ranked him among the Top 150 defensive end recruits in the nation after he recorded 12 tackles for loss in his senior season. His brother, Joseph, was a three-year starter at LSU.
"Dalton comes from good family stock and will help us tremendously on the defensive side of the ball," said Quinn. "He is also an excellent student."
Silas is a big, athletic tackle who has been chosen to the play in the Michigan East-West All-Star game at Michigan State this June. A starter on his high school basketball team and a National Honor Society member, Silas is a big athletic tackle who earned All-Conference and regional honors.
"Jake is long, rangy, strong, smart and athletic," said Quinn. "He adds to an already great recruiting class."
