Bryce Earns National Recognition
BUFFALO, NY - Following a career weekend in which he batted .615 and slugged five home runs, senior Eric Bryce was named one of the Louisville Slugger's National Players of the Week, as announced today by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
Bryce, a designated hitter, had eight hits in the four games he appeared in last week. It started on Wednesday with a pinch-hit double against East Carolina and it only grew from there. Getting the start against North Carolina Central on Friday, Bryce went 3-5 with two home runs and four runs driven in to go with two walks and three runs scored.
On Saturday, he went 2-3 with one more home run, a double and three runs batted in with two more walks. He finished the weekend by helped the team to a comeback win thanks to two more home runs and three runs batted in. All in all, he batted 8-13 with five home runs and 10 runs batted in with five walks in his four appearances. For the season, he is batting .471 with a .609 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of 1.471.
The team will be right back at it Tuesday afternoon for a doubleheader against Big Four rival St. Bonaventure. First pitch in game one is scheduled for 2 pm.
