Mye and Agustin Sweep MAC Weekly Honors

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo seniors Chaz Mye and Brad Agustin swept the Mid-American Conference weekly honors for their performances in the Bulls' four-game series against Morehead State. Mye received MAC East Division Pitcher of the Week as Agustin earned MAC East Division Player of the Week.

Mye (1-1) led the Bulls to their first victory of the season, defeating Morehead State, 6-4, in Friday's opening game of a four-game weekend road series. In 8.0 innings of work, Mye turned in a strong performance on the mound, striking out four batters while allowing only two earned runs and eight total hits.

At the plate, Agustin crushed a leadoff home run to deep center in the top of the first to give the Bulls and Mye an early lead. On Saturday, Agustin went 4-for-7 with five runs in Buffalo's 26-17 opening victory over Morehead State in the day's doubleheader. In the nightcap, the senior recorded his second home run of the series, a two-run shot to deep center. His top performance of the weekend came in the series finale as he went 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBIs including a two-RBI single and a two-run blast for his third home run of the series.

This marks the first time in program history that the Bulls have swept the weekly pitcher and player awards.

Following a two-game sweep of Georgetown College, the Bulls (5-4) remain on the road and face Tennessee Tech for a four-game series with the series opener on Friday, March 12 at 2:00 pm.
