Brad Agustin Named to All-MAC First Team

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo senior second baseman Brad Agustin has been named to the All-Mid-American Conference First Team, the conference office announced on Tuesday evening. Chosen by a vote among the league's 12 head coaches, the 30-member all-conference squad was announced in Chillicothe, Ohio, the site of the 2010 MAC Tournament.

Upon finishing his career as a Bull, the senior shattered four all-time career records, including most games played (204), most at bats (793), most hits (241) and most runs scored (168). He also broke two all-time records since the program's reinstatement in 2000 for most starts (190) and most assists (600). This season, he also tied former Bull and MLB draftee Joe Mihalics for most career total bases (355), in addition to setting the school single-season record for most runs scored (59).

This season, Agustin posted career season-highs in batting average (.343), at bats (201), hits (69), runs (59), doubles (17), home runs (8), RBIs (39), total bases (112), slugging percentage (.544), stolen bases (18) and assists (159).

Among conference individual rankings, the Williamsville, NY native finished fifth in on-base percentage (.462) while tying for a spot in three additional categories, including third in walks (37), fourth in stolen bases and seventh in runs scored.

A two-time MAC East Division Player of the Week honoree, Agustin was recognized on March 11 and April 19 for his strong play at the plate. En route to winning his first Player of the Week honor on March 11, the second baseman batted .563 with a slugging percentage of 1.250, compiling eight RBIs, 10 runs scored, two stolen bases, three home runs and two doubles in the Bulls' four-game series versus Morehead State. In six games during the week of April 12-18, Agustin batted .520 with a slugging percentage of .680, including nine RBIs, eight runs scored, four stolen bases, a double and a home run to earn the April 19th honor.

Agustin's performance in his final season, earned him first-team MAC honors, becoming the second Bull to be named to the All-MAC First Team as Mihalics was the first ever UB player to be a first-team selection in 2007.
