BUFFALO, NY – Dr. Donald R. Reed, University at Buffalo’s Senior Associate Athletic Director for Academics and Sports Management, will now oversee the newly formed Bulls Center for Excellence in Academic and Athletic Performance.
The mission of the center is to provide academic and athletic development programs and services that support all aspects of the UB student-athlete environment and contribute to achieving academic and athletic excellence.
“We want our student-athletes to reach their full potential as students, athletes and people while participating on championship-caliber athletic programs,” Reed said.
The Bulls Center for Excellence in Academic and Athletic Performance will provide comprehensive academic advising and support, leadership and career development training, sports performance training and assessment, nutrition services, sports medicine and athletic training services and counseling/wellness services and clinical assessment.
“This is an extremely important initiative for our athletic department and Dr. Reed is the right person to lead these efforts,” UB Director of Athletics Danny White said. “We want to make sure we provide the best experience for our student-athletes and prepare them for success both on and off the field.”
