UB Athletics Posts Highest GPA in School History
BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo student-athletes posted a 3.001 grade point average during the spring 2012 semester. It was the highest GPA in school history and the first time the department had a collective 3.0 GPA.
Nine teams had a team GPA of 3.0 or better, led by women’s soccer’s department-best 3.513 GPA. Women’s tennis (3.411), women’s cross country (3.360), women’s swimming and diving (3.283), rowing (3.240), volleyball (3.217), women’s track and field (3.208), men’s swimming and diving (3.169) and men’s cross country (3.107) also finished above the department average.
UB had 277 student-athletes (56%) finish with a GPA of 3.0 or better during the spring semester - an all-time high. The Bulls also had 21 student-athletes post a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
To date, 23 UB student-athletes have been named to their respective Academic All-MAC teams during the 2011-12 school year.
