Pressler and Svoboda Named Athletes of the Week

Mike Pressler (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) of the men's cross country team earned All-MAC First Team honors at the league championship meet. In cold and rainy conditions, Pressler put on a strong finishing kick to end the race in sixth place in 24:59.9, three-tenths of a second ahead of seventh-place finisher Brad Hough of Akron (25:00.2). Pressler was a second-team honoree when he finished 12th at the 2011 meet.

Kelly Svoboda (Cleveland, OH/Trinity) of the women's volleyball team had a team-high 28 digs in UB's five-set match against Ball State. Svoboda, UB's libero, propelled a defense that saw five players earn double-digits in digs. She added 21 digs in a three-set contest with Akron earlier in the week. For the season, the junior has collected 292 digs and is averaging 4.56 digs per set.
