Lewandowski and Sharkey Named Athletes of the Week

Mark Lewandowski (Depew, NY/Lancaster) of the wrestling team earned his 100th victory of his UB career with an 8-5 win over Edinboro's Casey Fuller. Lewandowski rebounded from an injury during the match to record a third-period takedown and rode out Fuller for the riding time point and the three-point decision. Lewandowski now becomes one of eight all-time UB wrestlers to compile 100 wins in a career. This season, the redshirt senior stands 20-6.

Kristen Sharkey (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) of the women's basketball team led the Bulls with 13 points and nine rebounds at Cornell as the team completed its non-conference schedule. Sharkey, a redshirt sophomore forward, scored eight of her points from the free throw line and also added a team-best two blocked shots in the contest. For the season, she is averaging 7.5 points per game while pulling down 5.4 rebounds per game and her 11 blocked shots rank second on the team.
