Zappia And Scott Named Athletes Of The Week

Liz Scott (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) of the women's volleyball team totaled 31 kills and 25 digs in UB's two weekend matches. In the five-set match against Miami (OH), the freshman outside hitter totaled 18 kills, 17 digs and three blocks, hitting .333. She is tied for second on the team with 261 kills and fourth with 57 blocks this season.

Travis Zappia (Plano, TX/McKinney) of the men's tennis team won the B flight singles title at the Cornell Invitational. Zappia finished the tournament with a 4-0 record and won three of his matches in three sets. He defeated Cornell's Kyle Berman in the championship match, 6-2, 6-1. The sophomore finished the fall season with a 7-3 singles record.
