Conway And Wheldon Named Players Of The Week

Ainsley Wheldon (Waterloo, Ontario/Bluevale Collegiate) of the women's soccer team recorded an overtime shutout for her eighth blanking of the season as the Bulls played Ball State to a scoreless double overtime tie. In two matches during the week, she stopped 15 shots, including 11 in the match with the Cardinals. For the season, the sophomore netminder has a 90 percent saves average and leads the MAC with 108 saves.

Dylan Conway (Commack, NY/Hauppauge) of the men's cross country team was UB's top finisher at the Penn State National Meet. Conway conquered a muddy course and rainy conditions to turn in a 27:01 clocking for 5.2 miles to finish 16th among 189 racers. The Bulls finished sixth in a 21-team field and scored ahead of MAC rivals Akron and Miami (OH).
