Svoboda And Oliver Named Athletes Of The Week

Kelly Svoboda (Cleveland, OH/Trinity) of the women's volleyball team earned all-tournament honors at the Blue & White Classic. Svoboda, UB's libero, collected 85 digs in four matches for the week, averaging 5.31 digs per set. She also had seven service aces for the week, including four in UB's four-set win over Cornell. The sophomore leads the Bulls with 225 digs (4.50 per set) and has 17 services aces this season. |

Branden Oliver (Miami, FL/Miami Southridge) of the football team rushed for 118 yards on 27 carries against Ball State. Oliver became the first UB running back to rush for 100 yards in three consecutive games since James Starks in 2008. The sophomore had a 10-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter, his team best fifth for the season. Oliver has 358 rushing yards this season and averages 119.3 yards per game. |
