Scahill and Varsity Four Named Athletes Of The Week

Dan Scahill (Lombard, IL/Elgin CC) of the baseball team snapped out of a slump with a productive weekend, driving in five runs in three games as the Bulls won two of three against MAC East rival Miami (OH). The senior started the series with two hits and three RBI to help the team to a 9-3 win on Friday. On Saturday, he had an RBI double in a 4-2 win. Despite a loss Sunday, Scahill went 2-5 with another double and a RBI.

UB's Varsity Four crew of coxswain Katherine Evely (Brockville, Ontario/Brockville) and rowers Margaret Lawn (Orlando, FL/Winter Park), Julia Hahn (Fairport, NY/Fairport), Katie Coffin (Pleasant Valley, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) and Cornelia Willis (Clarence, NY/Clarence) won the Colonial Athletic Association title by a tenth of a second over Boston University. UB finished with a time of 7:47.5. It marked the third time in the past four years the varsity four boat won gold at the CAA Championships.
