Hogan And Ward Named UB Athletes Of The Week

Alyssa Ward (Cameron Park, CA/Ponderosa) of the women's softball team batted .417 at the George Washington University Tournament as the Bulls went 3-1 on the weekend. Ward went 5-of-12 at the plate, smacking a three-run home run to account for all the Bulls' runs in a 3-0 victory over Robert Morris in the tournament finale. She also scored one of the two runs that the Bulls scored in their 3-2 walk-off win over Stony Brook.

Matt Hogan (Birmingham, MI/Cranbrook) of the men's swimming and diving team earned first-team All-MAC honors at the league championship meet. Hogan won the 100-yard freestyle, setting the UB, MAC and pool records. He also helped the Bulls to three relay wins including setting UB's 200-yard freestyle record in the opening leg of the 800-yard freestyle relay.
